House Sitting

Have you ever considered hiring a professional house-sitter? There are a number of benefits to having one in your home, especially if you're away travelling or on holiday.

The idea of a stranger in your home when you are away can be concerning. I know and understand, as I've used a house sitter myself in the past.  We’ve worked hard to establish trust with our homeowner clients and put their minds at ease. Our clients can relax and enjoy their time away knowing their home and pet(s) are in our good hands, in their own familiar environment, until their return. From a lifetime of business experience, I know the importance of providing a dependable, top-class service.

On the practical side of things, using a house-sitter helps with insurance. After a certain period of time – usually around 30 days - an unoccupied home isn't covered by standard home insurance. Having a house-sitter helps maintain your insurance policy and reduces the chances of being burgled or damaged, leaving you with peace of mind that your home is secure while you are away.

There are huge benefits for pet owners, too. People are reluctant to leave their pets in catteries or kennels which can be expensive, and the upheaval of being in an unfamiliar environment can be stressful for your pets. You can ask friends or neighbours to pop in and feed the cat or take the dog for a walk, but pets feel distressed when left alone for long periods of time, and some suffer from separation anxiety. Having someone in the house helps pets to feel safe and secure when you're not there, and you are reassured that someone is looking after them properly and can deal with any problems that may arise.

House-sitters can also help you stay connected to your home. When you get back from holiday the last thing you need is post piled up by the letter box (also a sign to burglars that the property is empty) and notifications that you have packages waiting for you to collect. Having someone staying in your property, opening the door to visitors and taking messages for you, gives you peace of mind that things are being managed in your absence. You can request updates from your sitter, or if you prefer not to be bothered, nominate someone else as a point of contact.

During each home sitting assignment our house sitters send a daily email or WhatsApp report to you (unless, of course, you prefer them not to), including photos and videos.

Safe and Secure

Our friendly, reliable, punctual and professional house sitters are CRB-checked and their references contacted. According to our guidelines, our house sitter is asked not to leave your home for more than three hours during the day, or more than two hours after sunset, which means the sitter will quite likely spend more time at home than you do.

Fully Insured

We are professionally insured to sit your home, including pet cover, up to £1 million. We are happy to provide a copy of our certificate of insurance on request. Terms of service apply. And of course, having us in your home also ensures your own insurance cover remains effectively in place.

House Sitting Fees

£85 per day

£495 per week

We aim to be totally transparent regarding fees.  We are not "hobby" house sitters, and we are not the cheapest professional housesitting service available.  Our fees reflect the quality of our services.
