Richmond Housesitters are a small, dedicated team of people providing house sitting and animal care and companionship services to the Richmond area of south-west London. We are actively seeking one or two outstanding individuals to join our amazing team of house and pet sitters. House and Pet Sitting

To become a My Pet Nanny Pet Sitter you must be a non-smoker, have your own transport, and be able to work approximately three to six months of each year. Experience with dogs, and ideally other pets, is essential. We have a wide range of clients and all expect the very best of care, so our reputation cannot be compromised. You must be active, versatile and able to cope in an emergency. Do you fit the criteria, below?

Honest, reliable and trustworthy.

Self-employed.

Fit, active and a non-smoker.

Experience with dogs, cats and other animals, and a passion for animal welfare

Have your own insured and reliable transport

Available for either/both short visits and longer overnight sits (sits are usually between 2 nights and 3 weeks) for at least 12 weeks per year.

Neat, tidy and respectful in the client's home.

Supply us with at least two personal/professional references, CRB check or Criminal Disclosure and proof of your own Public Liability insurance.

A qualification in Pet First Aid

(we will send the information you need to fulfil these requirements.)

Additional individual skills/experience that are important to us:

Knowledge of animals, inclusive of dogs, cats and birds.

Knowledge of dog breeds and each breed's individual behaviours and issues.

Knowledge of cats, their breeds and behaviours.

Lead skills with walking dogs, especially those needing extra special care and handling.

Outstanding customer service skills with pet parents and their fur family.

Organisational skills: Ability to work independently, self-managing a busy schedule. You will have your visits pre-booked and it will be your responsibility to follow them through and to alert us of any time-related issues.

Basic knowledge of pet medications and how to administer them. Skills in giving medications such as insulin, pills, transdermal medications and subQ fluids are particularly desirable.

Pet First Aid/CPR certification and a current DBS check are a pre-requisite (we can supply you with this information).

People with all levels of experience can apply.

Please note that Richmond Housesitters are independent contractors, not employees. This means you are resposible for paying your own tax, arranging your own house sitter insurance cover, providing a CRB/DBS check and completing a Pet First Aid qualification. We will help you to arrange these when you join us.
